No tethering is using it as a modem and wouldn't be included in the package O2 don't offer any unlimited data plans so I assume your looking elsewhere

Hi,

I am looking at a new phone contract which offers me unlimited data. However the small print states that I cannot use this data for using my phone as a modem for my computer or Peer to Peer file sharing. Is tethering different to both of these and so therefore will be included in my package??

You will however have (dependent on which phone you have) the ability to use your phone as a "Hotspot" which effectively turns it into a Wireless router.

I connected a number of iPads to the internet through the Mobile Hotspot option on my old BlackBerry. Just remember that using the option with a laptop will likely eat through your data rapidly
