Since updating software to Jelly Bean my phone keeps switching off then on again. Can happen anytime whether it's charging, talking on the phone or generally using it. What shall I do

First thing to try is do a complete back up of the phone then do a factory reset followed by an installation repair.

Be warned there is a known bug in Jelly bean 4.1.2 for Xperia's with NFC so expect another software release in the near future.

That error is usually a windows error due to the PC not having the correct drivers installed, usually related to the USB ports. Run windows update or try a different USB port on your PC.
