Thanks! The next question is....does O2 have any plans to get DC-HSDPA+ to every 3G cell on their network or is this only ever going to be for people that live in the cities?

Considering that they don't need any hardware changes for this tech, this is a huge opportunity for them to bring decent broadband speeds to rural areas without much of an investment.

I can't answer that, however, it would appear that a mast close to me has recently been upgraded. I went from a slow G signal to an H+ signal overnight....

Good stuff.

The problem I have is that in this town is that O2 has only one mast (A 2G one at that) and it's not even in the town centre, so there is blackspots right on the main high-street.

I stick to O2 because they are the only network that will give me a top of the range phone on a decent tariff....while the other networks wouldn't give me the drippings out of their noses.

Besides, I know that in my town, O2 isn't the hold up. It's the local authority holding up planning permission for a new mast!

the dc-hsdpa needs 2 masts to work the dc is dual circuit so cities only or larger towns with more than 1 mast.

Well..as I said, O2 is trying to get a 2nd mast in this town so eventually it would be possible!
