hi, can i sync calendars on microsoft windows phones ? ie between mine (lumia 640) and my wifes (lumia 535) ??

Only if signed in on the same Microsoft account on both devices I believe.

Settings >email+accounts >add an account and add the MS account you want to sync.
Tap on the new account and select Calendar under the "content to sync" settings.
