Hi.

You are best speaking to O2 on 202 to go through the process.

It is effectively a new contract term.

Here's the FAQ page which should shed some light on how it works.

http://www.o2.co.uk/mobile/refresh/frequent-questions/fast-track

Speed To Refresh Credit Check?

Hello.

I have the option to speed to refresh, my upgrade isn't until February so thought I'd have a go at refresh. I'm really confused by it, will i be cancelling my contract and starting from scratch or does it work the same as usual upgrades.

The other thing is I was a victim of identity fraud last year and the marks haven't yet been removed from my credit history so effectively it looks like I have bad credit. I've never missed a bill payment on my o2 or any other bill but would this stop me being accepted onto refresh? I was just concerned when i read that it'd require a credit check and I don't want to end up paying up my current contract then not being able to get a refresh upgrade as I'd then be without my phone.

It bascially works as a regular upgrade, just early. As long as you don't have any outstanding bills or your account hasn't recently been in treatment you'll be fine. There won't be an additional credit check, you'll just pay the fast track upgrade fee (remaining line rental -25%), provided your new package (line rental + phone payment) is at least as much as your current monthly payment. E.g. you pay £27 currently, and you're going for a £17 tariif + £10/mo phone payment, that would be fine, however the £12/mo tariff and £10/mo phone payment (£22/mo total) wouldn't be allowed as it's less per month than your current contract.

I have just completed the 'Speed to Refresh' process and it was surprisingly simply. Early upgrade carried out over the phone, then online terms, credit agreement etc provided via email to complete the order - no credit check as such (I too was also a tad concerned after a similar fraud situation)

I was previously on £65pm tariff and I have gone done to £37pm - no questions were asked about me 'downgrading' my monthly spend.

My son has just carried out the same to upgrade which involved No Credit Check as he is already a pay monthly Customer.

As said as long as your account is in order things should be fine.
