Want to change from Pay Monthly to Pay as You go

My pay monthly contract is due for renewal 1st Aug. Have just bought an android phone privately and wish to change to Pay as You Go and keep my number. How do I go about this

Hi,

If you dont do anything you will move onto a 30 day rolling contract.

So....

Contact 02 on 202 from your mobile to request that your account be moved onto a Payg term.

You can do this when your contact is up 30days prior to the end date..

You are very welcome.

When you contact them they may want to put you through to retentions to tempt you to stay on a contract by offering a better tariff or handset upgrade.

Stay steadfast if its a payg term you really want

They will go through all the procedures of any phone setting changes and when your final bill will be due.

I don't use my mobile as much these days and I am a texter rather than a talker so feel pay monthly is a waste of money, that is why I want to PAYG.

You should take a look at GiffGaff. The goodybags give you a lot more bang for your buck, and you would still be on the O2 network, if you're happy with the coverage you get. If you did want to switch you would have to make sure your phone was unlocked and you would still have to port your number, if you wanted to keep it, even though it's the same network.

I too have been tempted with GiffGaffs £12 goody bag.

Issue is both my daughter , her friend, my sons girlfriend and a colleague all suffer from lag on their giffgaff Internet.

They all live in close proximity to me and when they are lagging on their phone ,and I'm using mine to access the same page mine is much faster.

All in 3G full signal.

I Know there lots of parameters we can talk about ref hardware etc, but I'll be sticking to ,in my situation, a stable connection.

I'm still on an O2 tariff, mainly because it's an old legacy one and I still have unlimited web, but I know I'm paying more than I would be on GiffGaff. I think I will eventually shift over to there, as when I do ever decide to upgrade my phone it will be sim free anyway. I think what I might do is get a £10 goodybag for a month and see how the coverage is before I port my number over. As you say, my coverage could be better or worse than yours, depending on where we are located and the type of phone we have.

I'm sorry to say that I don't think it would be transferrable. If I could, I would.

The GiffGaff goodybags from £12 and up are all unlimited. As they run on the O2 network I don't see why the coverage should be any worse?

I know they shouldn't be different but they are.

Probably the GiffGaff Network getting saturated with people online, and some being naughty by connecting devices {my own personel opinion }

Ive moved abroard and only use my pay monthly when i come home. How can i change to pay as you go online? (i'm not sure i can ring the number from here -plus it might be v. expensive!)
