I'm fairly sure the driver is misinformed. You can refuse delivery:) if he appears again ask him to stop harassing you.

Hi,

I have been a customer on the "sim only contract" for about 7 years now. I got a little confused and didn't realise that i could simply " upgrade" to a monlthy contract.I went online and ordered a new contract with an iphone, then when i called up to enquire about keeping my number the very helpful chap said " why didn't you just upgrade?"

Anyways he told me to refuse the package when it arrives, it will then be sent back, then I should call up and "upgrade to the package i require".

I didnt expect the phone to take so long to come, and I have recently moved to london ( from liverpool). i left instructions to my parents to refuse it when it arrives.

My mum refused it today at 7am .... and it was then re delivered at 1pm. the driver told my parents that they "could not refuse the package".?????

He then explained he will re deliver tomorrow!..... am justa bit worried that he will drop it off at a neighbours, and it may go missing?

i was also told that i would personally have to return the phone to a carphone warehouse? but i have no plans to return up north as i am busy with my new job???....

Can anyone please help? I just dont want to be charged .. or the phone to go missing?

ThanksKenmure

Just refuse the delivery and then Its not your issue, The parcel courier will return it to o2 and all the systems will show you never received it and that the sim card as never been placed in new phone.

If it gets left with a neighbour that's not your problem you didn't receive it or sign for it so that's down to the courier company to explain where it has gone

If the worst comes to the worst, the pack itself should have a pre-paid returns label. You should be able to send it back within 7 days.

Also, you could cancel the SIM only deal and transfer that number over to your 'new contract'. It's what's known as a duplicate account procedure. If you go through to the cancellations department they should be able to take care of it for you. They will migrate the number you want to keep from the SIM only account, put it onto the new iPhone account and cancel the SIM only contract. This would probably be the fastest solution.
