Think I've been scammed.

My wife was playing a game on her Samsung Tocco Lite at the weekend, and after finishing what she was doing, she received a text giving her an unlock code for a game and saying that she had been charged £4.50 for the game and that by using the unlock code she is accepting their terms and conditions.

Needless to say, the unlock code hasn't been used, but it's odd that the £4.50 has been charged before the T&Cs have been accepted.

We checked the website which was mentioned on the text, but we seem to have to give our entire personal details to "unsubscribe".

This feels like a scam, has anyone else experienced anything like this?

It sounds like she completed the "trial" version of the game and clicked to accept to buy the "full" version. If the code has not been used you have a chance of getting your money back from the game vendor but you would need to contact them directly to do this.

Sadly the quango in charge of checking on premium numbers and costs won't investigate a single charge under £20

Had another look round and it seems it may, indeed, be a scam. I'll ring O2 and see what they say

You could try a complaint here, many have got these charges refunded:

I doubt if O2 can help.

That WHO CALLS ME website is brilliant.

You ever get a.missed call. Or avoiding calls!!!

U can go to their website and most DODGEY numbers will be listed often with notes about who the company calling is and what that company is usually after.
