Can I change tariff and keep friends and family discount

Hi all.

Going to ask in here as I’ve had mixed messages from customer support. So my contract is due to end next month. I’m happy with my phone and it’s still in good condition so I don’t want to upgrade.

I have been told once the device is paid off I will just pay my airtime and my f&f discount would remain.

I would like to change to unlimited data but when asking about this one advisor said I could keep the discount and change tariff but the next one told me it was impossible and would be classed as an upgrade so I would loose my f&f discount.

Does anyone know for sure? The advisor who said I could said it would be £20.66 a month with my f&f staying in place.

I don’t quite know why there is so much confusion with it to be honest and it’s not a good look for o2 when you get contradicting answers.

If anyone can help that would be great 🙂

If you change tariff then you need to apply for the discount again
