Cancelling my O2 contract

I want to cancel my O2 contract but after five phone calls and a total wait of over an hour I have not as yet been able to speak to anyone on the recommended number. Does anyone know if I can cancel online (I haven't found anything) or use webchat to get this sorted?

Easiest way is to use either a PAC or STAC code.

Thanks - but does that actually terminate my contract? I read conflicting advice on other threads suggesting that it might close my account but not necessarily terminate my contract.
