If you're certain you have Switch Up on your plan, you can definitely do it whenever you want. It's the selling point of the service. I Switched Up after 5 days because I didn't like the phone I originally chose. Maybe the sales assistant was confused and thought you wanted to exercise the 14 day change of mind policy - I'd try another store. I find that franchises are less likely to be helpful, so I always go to an O2-owned store if possible.

Have been in to o2 Swindon today to try and switch up on a handset that I got last weekend....... the store assistant told me he can't process it as a switch up it has to be done in the 14 day change mind policy and then the new handset I get I can't change for a minimum of 28 days ........ I thought the selling feature of switch up is that you can change your phone when ever you like, it doesn't say anything else about time limits etc unless I'm missing something?

I suspect Switch Up can't be done in the first 14 day cooling off period. Quite a few things don't happen in that period (such as Volt benefits etc.)

<LI-PRODUCT title="Guide: Introducing O2 Switch Up.

From what you say you appear to be using Switch Up to trial different phones. Maybe it's allowed but not in the spirit of things

You will just have to go back to a store that does what you want

We are all customers here so have no influence on a stores policy.

If you are not happy use the complaints proceedure

I’m not sure what you mean “in the sprit of things?”

o2 have released a product that they are constantly pushing in the media at the minute, yet when you try and use it they start messing about, my wife was with me in store and overheard the sales guy moaning to his colleagues about having to process the switch up through their system….. perhaps he’s not cut out for dealing with customers, but also why introduce a bolt on that is a ball ache to actually implement from a store point of view.

I've recently been trying to switch up from the new pixel 7a to a 7 pro as screen just to small after unboxing at home and trying to use it coming from a 14 pro max its just to small yet when I return to store with the pixel 7a and they scan the imei barcode it's conveniently saying device not recognised so I'm not able to switch up seems pretty stupid for a phone the shop provided yes it's within my 14 day cool off and I've done it before days after getting a phone and not getting on with it so switched to a different one no problem so don't know why it's doing it with the pixel 7a maybe as it's a new phone out the imei isn't added to database yet but seems very odd or is it now there way of stopping you switching up to many times as nobody from CS seems to have any idea why it's not recognised as it's all correct on my account and online chat say I should be fine to switch in store but 4 times I've been back and evey time they scan imei code device not found error , thought that was the point of switch up as now days new phones come out pretty much monthly so it's ideal for me as a tech geek to not have to wait 2yrs to get the latest tech , seems bit odd if ask me still waiting on the store to contact me after supposedly sending a email off to get sorted 4 days on still not heard from the store saying I can collect my 7 pro thats been waiting for me for a week now 😡
