I’m on a pay monthly contract which has a device charge and a separate tariff.

I’m wondering if it is possible to move to a different network provider and cancel my current tariff with o2 while keeping the device plan in place?

No.

The 2 are linked and if you cancel your airtime the device plan becomes due immediately and in full.

This is quite clear when signing up and in the T&C's
