Can’t get internet connection on phone in Italy

Hi. I’m on holiday in Italy but can’t send or receive texts, or search internet. I’ve switched data roaming on and have trying switching phone off and then back on. Still no joy. Have used phone aboard many times previously and can’t figure out what the problem is this time. Please advise. Thanks

As you have rebooted the phone, try manually searching for another network.

If you have an iPhone change the data APN to "mobile.o2.co.uk.

If none of the above works then you need to call O2 and ask them to remove the roaming bar on your account.

I have had this exact same problem in Italy for over a year now. I tried my partner's Vodaphone SIM in my iPhone, which worked absolutely fine. It's not the iPhone. It's a problem with O2. They sent me a new SIM after my last trip, but it's exactly the same with the new SIM. It's so frustrating.
