Problem with O2 Internet while abroad in Italy

Hi, I have a Huawei P30 pro and I am abroad in Italy. I can make calls and send SMS but Internet is not working. I tried restarting the phone, reset the network settings and selecting manually a network but none of these has worked. I am currently connected to Vodafone IT and I have strong signal but can only see the R of roaming next to the provider name. I think I might need to change APN but don't know where to start and I don't want to do something wrong. many thanks!

Im racking my brain from when I worked in Italy and I used TIM rather than Vodafone IT.

You shouldn't need to change your APN on android as it should work as in the UK.
You dont have mobile data roaming switched off in the Mobile Data settings by any chance as the default is now for that to be switched off

I tried with Tim too but nothing has changed..
