      <title>New account keeping existing o2 number</title>

      <description>I currently have a pay monthly account. The mobile is used by my daughter, but in my name on the Account. My daughter wants to take over the Account. I think I will have to close this Account as don’t think they can just change the name on the Account. Does anyone know how we can keep the same phone &amp;amp; number but start a new account. We don’t want to lose the number.</description>

Your daughter needs to take out her own contract (sim only) where she will undergo credit checks etc.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You need to talk to O2 about migrating the number to the sim only contract.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;LI-PRODUCT title="Guide: How does O2 Refresh work?" id="Guide017"&gt;&lt;/LI-PRODUCT&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;In fact your best bet is to talk to O2 with your daughter present, to explain what you want to do.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;All numbers to call are in this guide &lt;LI-PRODUCT title="Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support" id="Guide069"&gt;&lt;/LI-PRODUCT&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;In addition to advice above from &lt;a href="https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/132456"&gt;@Cleoriff&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;and &lt;a href="https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/24643"&gt;@MI5&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;, it might be worth you and your daughter dropping into your nearest O2 shop, open now after many months of lockdown,&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/4516903"&gt;@Den1&lt;/a&gt;. Take your current contract phone and SIM with you so the shop staff can get all done while you are there. You and your daughter may need a couple of forms of id, eg a utility bill or bank statement in the name of your daughter, and a photographic id - assuming there is a phone on O2's offerings at a price you like.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The current phone, if you wish to keep it active, will need either a new SIM-only contract or can be switched to PAYG, assuming it does not move to your daughter along with her shiny new contract and tariff.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Good luck.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
