ID for signing up to a contract online

Hopefully someone can help me, I've been trying to find the info online but feel like I've been getting conflicting information.

I'm planning on getting a new pay monthly contract and phone next week and am going to order online. What ID or documents will I need for this? What I'm a bit worried about at the moment is that I don't have any up to date photo ID.

If you order online for home delivery there are no documents required.

O2 will run a credit check based on the info you give them and they may follow up with an ID check over the phone, but this will just be to confirm your bank details relate to you.
