Pay monthly upgrade

Hello. I have question about Pay Monthly contract.
End of the month my contract is ending. I don’t need new phone at the moment but I’m thinking to get iPad.

I’ve found iPad plus 10GB internet for 27£. The question is- if I will take the iPad the internet will be added to my phone number ? Because I just need internet on my device and to be honest I don’t wanna take new phone so instead I would like to take the iPad plus leave internet on my SIM card? Could someone explain how it’s works ?

You need to look at a sim only contract for your phone.

The Ipad will be a separate contract entirely

If you take the ipad as a new contract then you will have both.
If you take the ipad as an upgrade, your phone will stop working and you won't be able to send or receive calls or texts.

I also am looking to upgrade to iPad instead of a new phone. Can I get a sim with three and port my existing number over to three? And then just have my iPad on o2? Does the iPad have a phone number or just a new sim with no connection to my phone number?

You can't upgrade to an ipad and keep your number. Porting to Three first mean our O2 contract ends immediately meaning you will have to take out a new contract for the ipad with a data sim.
