Transfer Of Existing Phone Number

Hi, I went into my local O2 shop yesterday to transfer from EE. They set me up on a new contract and I gave them a Pac code to transfer my phone number, however it is still showing as me being on the temporary number they gave me. How long will it take to transfer over and how will I know when it has been done.

If you have an iPhone go to settings >phone >my number and change it to the correct number.
