Will friends & family discount carry over if I change from sim only?

Hi guys, as per the title Im currently on a sim only plan, and receive the O2 friends and family discount on this. I bought my own unlocked handset years ago, and have been using the O2 sim on a sim only plan (and receiving the F&F discount) since.

I now want to upgrade to a Note 9 from O2, and am wondering if my F&F discount will carry over? I understand the discount only applies to the 'Airtime plan' part of the contract here- I just want to know if the F&F discount carries over automatically?

If it doesnt then Ill likely just buy myself a new, unlocked handset again!

If it's an upgrade I think it will carry over.

Unfortunately not.
It will have to be applied for again by the employee friend or family member.

Yeah, I would agree that unfortunately it doesnt seem to carry over;

The friend who got this no longer works there either. 😞

Yes I should have checked T's and C's... I made a presumption that because it was an upgrade it would carry over. Oh well ...as they say, every day is a school day

Shop assistants qualify so you could always try and talk one into giving you one of their codes if they have any spare

Thanks to you guys for your help!

This is the deal I was looking at incidentally, the F&F discount would have halfed the airtime portion of the plan, meaning Id have payed about £41 per month (if Ive understood correctly!)...

It's 50% of the airtime before vat so would have taken off approx £12.00

Here's a quick tip if you're not fussed about a refresh contract.
Check Carphone Warehouse Black Friday offers, but the end tonight, so be quick!
