Hi, why I got this message if I have FREE data in Europe(Spain)!!???

You don’t get free data in Spain or any where In the EU.

You take you normal U.K. allowance with you to use in EU.

So if your tarriff comes with 15GB, and you have already used 5Gb in the U.K. before you go, then you have 10GB left to use In Spain.

The notification SMS is only advising you that you can use your normal UK allowance whilst In Spain.

Just to make you aware, that your data can take up to 24 hours to update

O2 Travel Inclusive is for certain countries to use in, like USA and this the. Does give you a separate allowance to use.

@BigDaddyUK You may have misunderstood there is no free data as you pay for it in your airtime contract

It means you can use your allowances as if you are at home.

However if you exceed your data allowance then you will be charged

ok, my data in UK 25GB... O2 app show me 24Gb left from 25Gb...

If Want more data then you buy a bolt on as you would in the U.K. The fine @Cleoriff has posted this with the link 👍

Easy thing to do. Pretend that you still in the U.K. with your phone and use it as you would do in the U.K. Calls, sms and Data. Nothing changes while you in Spain.

you can make calls to U.K while in Spain and this is free (Part of you unlimited sms)

if if you make a 0870 call in the U.K. then your charged, if you make a 0870 call back to the U.K. from Spain then your charged.

its no different any more in a EU country.

You can also make calls to Spainish numbers while you are there Normal mobile and normal landline. If however you call a Spanish premium rate number, then you would be charged..

Did you check my sms screenshots? Why text me ALL your data, text and call come out of your normal UK allowance?? If I have Unlimited call, Unlimited text and 25GB data, and only 1Gb spend....

I checked your screenshots and admit O2 don't usually issue warnings until you are near your data limit.

I didn't interpret that as a warning though. Just information

If you say you have 25gb and only used 1GB then you have 24gb left to use...

It’s a standared sms @BigDaddyUK that is sent to every one that roams.

the sms isn’t changed for you becuase of you allowance.

I agree with @Cleoriff The sms you got is not a warning sms. It’s a Advisory Sms.

Not sure why you think this is a warning sms. ?

If you got a warning sms, you would know this as it would say. You nearing the end of your data. Etc

The sms says you can use you U.K. allowance in Spain. So if you have unlimited, it’s same in Spain.

there is Cavats to this. If the network things you are abusing it, then they can with draw the service and make you pay, also you can on,unused your phone for no more than 60 days at a time while over seas. And you must reside more in the U.K. than Spain.

If you are on holiday for 1-8 weeks. Then this is fine. 8+ weeks, then you will be charged for calls,sms and data.

this is the ruiling as per the EU Telecoms and nothing to do with o2

@BigDaddyUK Your screen shot indicates that your allowance is only 4 or 5 days old so this is your newest allowance. You may have used up some of last months allowance in the first couple of days on your holiday

@BigDaddyUK some times the sms are delayed when you arrive.

but as per the sms, it’s not a warning sms at all. Just a welcome sms and advising that you can use you allowances In spain.

you phone uses data when on, so you have just used some of you allowance while your there. But it clearly shows you have over 24GB left to use in this months allowence.

I have free wifi my hotel, just some times use mobile data....

@BigDaddyUK Your mobile data will kick in if your WiFi cuts out too . Your allowance is absolutely fine, nothing to worry about, no warning messsge, just enjoy the holiday

I agree with @Anonymous. You allowance kicks in normally when the phone is in standby.

But as its showing, it’s coming out of you allowence fine and the sms is saying the same.
