got a new sim today. inserted it into the chosen phone. but it is just saying no service. i keep restarting it but nothing is changing?

You'll need to do a SIM swap or activation.

the new sim needs to be activated @mrslegoloser
You need to follow the advice above to activate it.
Is it a replacement for a pay as you go (PAYG) or pay monthly (PAYM)?

thanks for the replies! it is a pay monthly sim. we just put it into an iphone we already had. i asked on the live chat about it and they said that it can take 24 hours for it to work but its been a couple of days now. i checked the above link and it says it should start to work?

Call customer service and ask them to activate it.
Live chat have clearly failed to do it.

Also, is the iPhone unlocked to work on o2?

Give them a call to activate the sim then. It should only take a couple of hours.
