I can receive texts and calls whilst in the eu, but can't make call or send texts. Any ideas. I have a Samsung s7

Are you abroad at the moment? If so you may have a roaming bar on your account.

You need to contact customer services , via live chat and ask them to check and get this lifted https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

You can also try a manual search for another network
