Cancelling a contract

Hello,

My current contract ends on the 9th of April 2018. I want to cancel my contract as I do not wish to continue with o2 when my contract expires. I am wondering whether I can ring up and cancel this week and simply pay off my remaining bill. I get billed on the 27th so if I ring after that can I cancel as no more bills will be required? I am aware of how I receive a PAC code but I heard about giving 30days notice before I can cancel. If anybody can guide me to the best way to cancel my pay monthly contract and inform me of any additional charges I will incur it would be much appreciated.

Once your device is paid off you need to give 30 days notice to cancel your airtime

Edited to addwhen you cancel you need to wait till your bill is showing a 0 balance before you cancel direct debits.

You can choose to give 30 days notice and wait for that period to use your allowances or get your PAC and go but you will still be billed for the 30 days.
So calling to cancel on the 27th March will give you usage on o2 until the 27th April, however because of the way o2 works, you will still get another bill so don’t cancel your Direct debit until the following month.
You can check in your MyO2 as you should be in credit at this point and claim a refund of any money owing to you from customer service.

You could do it that way and give 30 days notice of cancelling airtime

I’d do it immediately and get my PAC.
Use when ready and just pay the final bill that gets generated at that point in time. That way you know you are completely paid up and clear.

Great! I will ring tomorrow, get my PAC and use it with my new network. Sad to leave o2 but the prices are not competitive enough! Thanks for the help guys!
