As a number of ISP's killed off their IPV6 networks for consumers, and unless you are networking geek then their is no need to use IPv6.

I have a feeling that IPv6 on VoLTE is more a POT rather than anything else.

I have a feeling that only the core network guys at o2 will know about IPv6, and not many people on the forums will know about it, or what it does

::1

There should be some reason for some organisations sticking with public IP addresses even on IPv4. I mean using public IP addresses in LAN.

In certain large countries private IPv4 address space is not even enough for accomodating VoLTE users of the whole country.

Many other mobile providers are rolling out IPv6, EE for example.

Yes there are few of us that are geeks but the truth of the matter is that IPv6 has been out for at least a decade.

O2 should provide this functionality or look at losing customers.

Any update on this.

I'm 1 month from my contract finishing and given the deals I'm seeing IPv6 will be the deciding factor.

China heavily uses IPv6, in fact I've rolled out IPv6 for a research department at work.

I've also got a large allocation (/56) of IPv6 addresses at home and it would be real nice to be able to use these publicly on mobile devices. Not to mention the benefits of non-NATd IP addresses and VOIP.

I think you should try to ring the ISP you want to use and get quote for a bearer service if IPv6 is critical for your work. Then you can see whether you can use GRE, MPLS link or something else between the ISP and your own network and use your own IPv4/IPv6 address space on a new APN created for you.
