Moving a number from 3 to O2

Hi,

Six months ago I got so fed up with 3 that I took a contract with O2. The number I have on 3 is years old and I'd like to keep it, preferably moving it to my now six month old O2 contact.

Once I get my PAC from 3 will this be possible given that this isn't a new O2 contract?

It's this bit that concerns me;

"If you're new to O2, or changing your O2 contract, it's easy to keep your mobile number."

I'm neither new nor changing my contract. I'll just go through the process and see how it goes.

It matters not.
You can port in a number at any time, it's just more normal to do it when you first join.

I've taken a contract out with o2 and given my PAC code 1 year down the line, no issues.

There is a couple of companies that don't allow transfers when the contract is up and running, but o2 isn't one of them.
