The new Xperia Z2 tablet is official and it’s here, ready to buy from today (WiFi version is available and on sale, 4G version coming soon).

As well as being waterproof, it’ll also share the Z2 phones dust and scratch resistant features so this is one of those few breeds of tablet that you really can take anywhere with you. And just in case it took your fancy, it also comes equipped with a powerful 8MP camera that will be sure to snap great photos wherever you are.

Behold, the new kid on the block:

OS: Google™ Android™ 4.4 (KitKat)
CPU: Snapdragon Quad-Core 2.3 GHz processor
Memory: 3GB RAM
Size (mm) 172 x 266 x 6.4 mm
Screen Size: 10.1 inches
Internal Storage: 16GB
External Storage: Up to 64GB microSD

Very nice @Chris_K

The Sony tablet was one of the contenders I looked at before settling on the iPad Air.

The Sony is A very nice piece of kit.

I'm extremely thinking about replacing my ipad with this although looking at the battery specs it has a significantly smaller battery capacity

I like the look of it and the processor and memory size is also tempting.

I have an iPad mini and the Xperia Z2 looks a lot more advanced and expensive (I think that the iPad's basic design looks cheap compared to other tablets on the market at the moment).
