im trying to unlock sim , but need puk code and dont no the mobile number either, can i find out with the number printed on back of sim card

Easier to just do a sim swap unless you can find the mobile number.

what im really trying to do is, i got lumia 735 with preveiw w10 update which caused lots of problems so i bought a new lumia 735, i just want to reset it to old 8.1

Why don't you know the number. It will be in My O2 if you have registered. If not pick up a new sim from any supermarket for 99p. 

But as MI5 says you don't actually need a sim to do what you want....
