@Anonymous wrote:I had this text too, and am usually pretty clued up about spam stuff but this got me as it was in the thread with the others from O2. I have just spent time on chat with an O2 rep and am getting no where. I asked them to confirm that my details were safe and they just advised me to change my password.
Mmmmm....a bit worrying that 'changing password ' is the only official stance as yet?...
Hoping to hear more today as this problem is being tweeted as well as posted on here..(by a limited number of O2 users)

I've just had this email too. Keylogger indeed. I've been cleaning computers for years and am throughly convinced my own is clean. Besides, I wouldn't know my phone serial number and PUK code without looking for them anyway and I've certainly never needed to type them anywhere.
This is a very, very worrying phising email! O2 should be taking a more pro-active response to this. I'm coming up for renewal in May - this is NOT making me want to renew.

Especially as still no formal recognition of a problem on the main website nor on here.
I would have thought by 5pm Monday there would have been at least a formal "holding" announcement on the O2 website.

Whether they have or not, I would have expected a formal acknowledgement of a potential problem to warn their customers. At least the customers then have a choice to change their passwords or not.
But to be honest, a password change is the least of their worries.
