Message charge for O2 survey

Hi, had a message from an O2 survey, i wanted to respond as the customer service person i spoke to was awfull. But i got warning saying they would charge me, but why?

The 5 text are usually a few days after you purchase a phone & are free but it's saying you will be charged it sounds fishy

If you are responding to a text message then the 5 texts aren't chargeable

Your phone will always warn you about a potential charge because the texts go to a shortcode number of which some are used as premium rate texts, but the texts to o2 are free.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
