Firstly, please do not start two different posts with different titles asking the same question. It just gets confusing to people reading the threads.

If you are changing providers and want to keep your number, call 202 and ask for your PAC. When you give that to your new provider it will automatically cancel your contract, but leave your Direct Debit in place until you receive a final bill from O2. This guide should help you: http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Cancelling-Your-Contract-A-Guide/m-p/566774/high...

In short, notice is required to cancel, but using your PAC will automatically cancel and generate a final bill for you.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
