I have just seen my latest bill and I have a £2.50 charge from receiving something from 85878 - yet the date/time given doesnt match to anything on my phone.

Is this some sort of text service scam? I havent signed up for anything.

I would call O2 - but they close at 8pm, and doent seem to have email support? (Live chat seems down)

How do I get this charge removed from my account?

Thanks for any help.

Check the number here https://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/
It will no doubt be a scam of some sort.
Call o2 cs in the morning to discuss the charges but you need to follow up with the company charging you to get it stopped asap too.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

You will have to cancel directly with the company either by calling or emailing them.

Both details available on the link provided above.

These crap scams are rife on Facebook... They have links hidden that you're unaware you click on, then bam you're charged for incoming texts you never knowingly signed up to.

Contact cs asap and also you need to inform phonepayplus the regulator who deals with these things. There's a link been posted by another member.
