Can monthly upgrade phone to be used as pay as you go

Anonymous

Hi,

Apologies if this in the wrong location but here goes.

I have currently a Sony Tipo and have now upgraded phone to  Nokia Lumia 630. But as I'm happy with the Sony I'm wondering if the new phone can be used by my wife as shes on a pay as you go contract still. I believe the sim sizes are different.

many thanks

Basically your contract is the sim card and you can use it in any phone you want to.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

In a word, Yes.

A new sim would have been sent with the Nokia but there is no requirement to use it. You can carry on with your contract arrangements for the Nokia upgrade but using your Sony.

With the Nokia you will need an o2 sim that fits. You can get one free from an o2 store or online and ask the store to do the swap for you if your wife has an o2 number she wants to keep. If however her sim fits then away you go.

Just to add the simswap process can take from a few minutes to approx 24 hours.

When your wife inserts her sim then she should get the apn settings for payg internet.

If not text ACTIVE to 2020 , save the settings and reboot the phone.

If your wife is P&G don't use the sim card provided with your upgrade. Monthly contract and P&Gsims aare different so your wife needs a P&G sim free from the O2 store or order one online.
