I have started getting texts saying i'm being billed for "sexy content". I spoke to o2 and it's apparently because i signed up for a premium service at some time in the past for "information services" and they may have sold on my info. So the following questions they can't answer:

1. Does o2 not need to ask me for my permission before allowing a new subscription to "sexy content?"

2. Does o2 bill me for this content on behalf of that "3rd party" without my permission?

3. Does o2 not have any responsibility for ensuring it's customers are safe from spurious "sexy content" auto-sign ups?

Where do i go from here?  o2 deny deny deny yet I am 100% sure i did not approve this....

Any help or assistance would be appreciated!

Thanks

Karl

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

With the recent so far unexplained release of customers' personal data, who knows what "companies" now have perhaps millions of O2 customers' email addresses and mobile phone numbers ?

I was the victim of this a few years ago which resulted in me asking for a change of mobile telephone number , which although was slightly inconvenient, it stopped it for me.

No guarantees it won't ever start again even after a number change.

I've also asked for the new service 'Charge to Mobile, Direct to Bill' to be De Activated too via o2 Customer Services Link http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

O2 must sell this data on because I too have had frequent selling calls especially from companies wanting me to upgrade my mobile contract.

I would never upgrade from a coldcall even if they offered to pay up the remainder of my contract, throw in all sorts of extras our even if they offered 12 months free.
