A contract for my daughter is in my name and the money comes out of my account

[ Edited ]

however it is due to finish soon (July 2012) and so I was wondering if there is any way she can take over the contract (the contract being in her name and thus the money coming out of her account) when she upgrades?

She still wants to be on o2 and still have a pay monthly contract, but if she just got a new account and contract with o2 in her name when this one finishes, she would lose out on the benefits such as cheaper/better deals that one gets when upgrading.

Is this possible?

You need to speak to customer services, but I have seen cases where this has been allowed.

She will probably have to pass a credit check though.

Well you can just change the account the DD comes out of to your daughters account. But that won't put the contract in her name....

Don't let them fool you into thinking you get a better deal upgrading your old contract. I have just done this and the deal on this new contract is no better than if I had taken out a brand new contract. Unless I have kept the old phone and gone for a simplicty contract.

So maybe get your daughter to check out what she wants and then compare it to what you can get upgrading.
