4G does not work

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi All.

On PAYG and upgraded my account to a 4G bundle about a month ago. I have an iphone 6 and made sure 4G is enabled. I have also checked the sim which has the code to suggest it's 4G as well as the 02 online helper also say it is.

I can't get 4G anywhere and we have another iphone 6 which works fine on Giffgaff (02 network). I have contacted 02 chat and they say the account is ok and enabled for 4G and where no further help.

I have rebooted the phone since the change and tried to reset my network settings but still no joy.

Can anyone help here

Thanks

1 on payg ensure your mobile data settings match these payandgo.o2.co.uk

2 are you in a 4g area check here and it will report faults as well http://status.o2.co.uk/

3 is it affecting 3g data as well ?

If you report back we may be able to help further

Hi @Anonymous

Are you on iData? You may just have standard data.

You can check in my O2 and see if your data bolt on says it is for iPhone, if so you should have iData as your apn.http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2
If it is just standard data then your apn will be "mobile.o2.co.uk" but you should call CS to get it changed to iData asap as you will lose specific iPhone functions on that data package..

Check network status and see if you have any other problems linked to in this help thread

I would suggest you call 4445 and speak to cs rather than live chat as it does sound like you need 4G enabling on your account.

Another recent thread with the same problem turned out to be that the 4G bolt on hadn't been activated on the account. Strongly suggest you call 202.

I have this same problem. Live chat updated my PAYG tariff to a 4g one (big bundle), topped up and still no 4g, despite knowing i'm in a 4g area. I'm using an iphone c. WHere on my o2 do you check if my account is 4g enabled?
