Hi guys,

O2 announced yesterday the launch and roll-out of O2 Wifi Extra across its premium partner brands in the UK. The latest evolution of O2’s free wifi service, O2 Wifi Extra gives customers a seamless wifi experience on their smartphone or table whilst staying secure online.

To help customers save mobile data allowance, the new service automatically connects customers to O2 Wifi Extra if the wifi signal is stronger than O2’s 3G or 4G network.

For more information read http://news.o2.co.uk/?press-release=o2-wifi-goes-the-extra-mile-for-o2-customers and a list of compatible devices visit http://www.o2wifi.com/my/extra

Would you use it?

If you're using O2 Wi-Fi now your phone should connect automatically when you get near an O2 Wi-Fi Extra location.

As it says here your phone may not be on the list and it shouldn't matter: https://www.o2wifi.co.uk/my/extra/devices

Not found anywhere at all yet, let alone London....
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:

The locations for O2 Wi-Fi can be found here: https://www.o2wifi.co.uk/my/extra

For example: O2 Wifi Extra is available across most of the O2 Wifi estate, on high streets up and down the country. In brands like McDonald’s, Café Rouge and Fullers and at selected stations on the London Underground.

That show standard hotspots, but didn't indicate where the new Wi-Fi extra service is available.
