Try out payg sim cards and go to where you get what you need.
O2 won't rush to give you 4g specifically due to posting here but your area might be on the upgrade plan soon, who knows?

They are still within the roll out timetable and they certainly won't be paying any compensation!

Go with whatever suits your needs. If EE gives a good signal for you then it's a no-brainer tbh.
