That's O2, not a 3rd party.

I still wouldn't touch them with a bargepole @Anonymous  Google the number and many bad comments about them.....Also a lot of doubt about the validity. (apologies...I am only relaying what I spent 10 minutes reading) slight_frown

I get why people are suspicious, and in a way I'm happy, because people are starting to be aware of all the scams and dodgy sales people that are everywhere nowadays. On the other hand Genuine sales calls are automatically considered suspicious...(By the way,the customer would have given O2 permission to call and offer new products and offers and can change this with customer services)

I think many people aren't aware that they have given permission for these calls. These so called permissions are usually in the smal print of the T & C's, are they not?

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Yes @Bambino  They are in MyO2 apparently. Set to default to receive them. If O2 had one responsibility to their customers (after all the spam emails, calls and texts) this should be set to off by default I think...

But they make money by selling our contact details.....
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Which is futile, 'trusted' partners are given your details anyway and who knows what they get up to.....

I think we have found that out @jonsie ...maybe not quite so 'trusted'...

I really cannot understand why o2 would risk their reputation (even if it is in tatters already) by selling our details to other so called trusted partners.

Surely the terms trusted partners and Aerial wouldn't ever be seen in the same sentence?

They don't sell details to trusted partners, they share their data base. Not quite the same thing.

Trusted partners will pay something towards that data base.

The only thing Aerial can be trusted with us to screw it up
