If by free you mean do you have to pay for the phone, then that depends on the phone and level of tariff you choose. As the others have said if you go into an O2 store you can try out which phones you like the look/ feel of and discuss which tariffs may suit.

iPhone 14 Pro (O2 ), S23U (EE), iPad Pro LTE (EE), .

Hi @Anonymous and Welcome to the Community Forum,

Upgrade costs depends on what tariff and handset you choose.

You may start to receive Cold Calls if your close to upgrading. Do not upgrade this way.

You can look at your upgrade options in your Myo2 or ring 202 from your phone.

You can also upgrade in an O2 store or a Carphone Warehouse ~ you cannot choose a Refresh Tariff in a CPW Store.

If you haven't made a little short list of the handsets your interested in ,then I would suggest you have a look online at what's available from O2 and CPW.

Then perhaps if convenient pop into their high-street shops to have a play with working demo models to see which one you like the look and feel of.

With your old phone you could use it as a back up or use O2 recycle https://www.o2recycle.co.uk/ ,to help pay for any handset costs or ask for it to be unlocked free of charge here https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form which will increase it's street value if you want to sell it privately.

Look at which Sim Card your current phone uses to what your newly chosen one uses as that will dictate wether if you'll need to perform a Sim Swap which will move your Mobile Number and Tariff from your original one to the different sized one. The O2 shop can perform this procedure.

Enjoy the journey and take your time choosing. slight_smile

Yes, you can get an entirely free upgrade but it is determined by the type of phone and tariff you choose.
If you have a budget to stick to, go in store and tell them your monthly limit so they can give you the options.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
