What are the roaming charge rates when in Cyprus, because my bill came to just over £300 & i was only away for 2 weeks

Your only chance is to call customer service on 202 to see if they will refund some of the charges but if they are genuine they may well insist on full payment. Speak to them, nothing to lose only your time.

Have you looked at the breakdown of the bill in your MyO2.

I've inserted a link you can use ref charges.

Did you have travel activated on your account ? (If applicable)

I inserted Cyprus and got this.


Landlines - per minute 24p
Mobiles - per minute 24p

Receiving calls - per minute 6p
Sending texts - per message 7p
Cost per MB of using data:
Data usage 46p / MB*
* O2 will automatically cap your data usage in Europe to £48 (Inc VAT).

Cyprus , North.

When in: Calling:

Making calls - per minute £1.50
Receiving calls - per minute £1.25
Sending texts - per message 40p

If you call Cs on 202 they will provide official clarification regarding your bill.

I typically advise making sure a phone is unlocked and a local SIM card is used while on holiday so no possible large bills are accumulated. And use wifi where and when possible.

Advice such as turning off voicemail before you leave the Uk and turn mobile data off and use wifi when possible if using your O2 sim too for future reference.

north or south cyprus? or close to northern border ? As bob says big diferance in costs especially on data

No i didnt have Travel activated on my account, i didnt know anything about it

It where anything i can do regarding my bill apart from paying it ?

I would second what jonse says give them a call and explain you didn't know about o2 travel it should have been active anyway unless you disabled it if you get no joy at first you can always call back and speak to someone else there's no harm in trying they will sometimes make an exception but do call them up do not use live chat @Anonymous
