Re: O2 is here to help your business... Tell us how!

And ...
stop wasting money on stuff like your O2learn site - there's already a huge marketplace for free stuff for teachers (I'm in it!!)
For goodness sake concentrate on your core process of providing an effective communication infrastructure and focus less (and therefore spend less) on providing content for it. You'll be selling music downloads next. AND THAT IS NOT A SUGGESTION!!!!!

Re: O2 is here to help your business... Tell us how!

On the whole very happy with O2, apart from the signal.
Where I am working right now with is in the SO32 area there is zero signal.
At my house there is no 3G and a medium 2G signal.
This to me is the most important thing.
I'm an independent Apple reseller and I have noticed a huge trend of my clients switching from O2 to Vodafone so they can purchase the homehub/femtocell box just so they can get a signal at their homes/offices.
At the very least O2 need to start selling femtocells to overcome these signal issues.

Re: O2 is here to help your business... Tell us how!

Lots of people mentioning signal quality - I would second that. In our office speech can be very 'choppy' Does not happen on any other network
To contact O2 click "Contact us" at the bottom of any O2 page, and click the service you need, or wait for "Live Chat" to appear.

There's a page here on the o2 website stating:
O2 trials femtocell technology
O2 is pioneering the first UK trial of the much-anticipated femtocell technology.

That page was last updated 10th August 2010...
Come on o2... you used to be at the forefront of new developments!

Re: O2 is here to help your business... Tell us how!

I think O2 does much really really well, my focus is above everything doing things that are fair, sensible for the customer and add value and save me time. Very few of the ideas below would cost you much at all but would increase my loyalty and value of O2. Its largely about quality of service integration and being able to operate seamlessly with zero latency in my working and personal life.
Your broadband rocks by the way

1. Let me use my O2 iphone data contract subscription and phone number with my laptop to stop me having to use a mobile broadband dongle to connect via wifi where I require a login. Occasional user would be a major benefit and cost you almost nothing to open it up
2. Let me tether for free to my iPhone for free it is simply unreasonable, happy to accept a data volume limit while tethering but I think it is unreasonable compared to my previous contract
3. Let me roam both voice and data easily internationally for free for a limited amount of time e.g. one day business trip to Paris or Munic, you are making it too hard to do international business
4. Cut deals to allow me to roam for a fixed price that is not punitive for flexible periods e.g. by number of days from start to end date not force a month as a minimum, if it is a system issue fix it, don't punish the loyal customer
5. Provide a Femtocell service or better still collaborate with other mobile firms to plug the coverage issues in my area I lose signal for a regular period in WD3 travelling between office and Bovingdon and Kings Langley it is not acceptable.
6. Get better at managing the release of a new OS for iPhone - I know apple got it wrong with OS4 on iPhone 3GS but I am your customer and my phone is less reliable and some of the features still don't work properly even now. Demand better behaviour from your supplier Apple
7. Give me Skype voice on my phone over 3GS, its technically possible you have disabled it. Don't use it much but would be a benefit
8. Let me move seamlessly from VOIP based call to mobile, offer me a landline number that routes to my mobile number
9. Let me have a phone with more than one mobile number so I can separate out my multiple businesses and in bound calls but manage them on one device
10. Let me carry over my minutes and texts and let me share them with another phone easily and let me distribute them in the form of a budget for a phone so I can control the spend and lock the outgoing calls oonce budget spent.
11. Enable your systems both business and personal to integrate with Mydex #### personal data store ecosystem so that I can keep my customer records up to date with you seamlessly and stop me having to login into your systems
12. Send me my bill in electronic format that can be analysed e.g. Excel format flat file so I can do pivot charts
13. Let me send SMS messages from a webpage that use my text credits, like Textmagic
14. Let me listen to my voicemails on line via a webpage
15. Provide free forwarding of my mobile calls to my Skype account so I can integrate it with my voicemail there as well.

Re: O2 is here to help your business... Tell us how!

Generally I think O2 is awesome for our business - at least on our slightly older tariff (the 4 for 1 texts, inclusive MMS, roaming texts, free o2/o2 calls are massive reasons we stay with you).
Stuff you could do that would make you truly innovative...
(a) Allow multiple SIMs (at least 2) which appear as 1 number for calls and texts (the latter very important), and let me select which receives incoming calls via some network code. Charge me extra for it, I couldn't care less, but it is an obvious feature that would make the need to use more than one handset during the day so darned straightforward.
(b) Offer a femtocell option - your network for 3G isn't exactly stellar, and our office cannot get any 3G despite being < 2 minutes WALK from the city centre. This is a real annoyance but I could live with the femtocell workaround
(c) Allow adding extra users onto your account to share minutes etc, but without needing to commit to a long term for those users - great if you have temporary staff for say 6 months but you have a 2/3 year contract. Adding them for the full 3 years is a nonsense (just a SIM, no phone needed so nothing for you to subsidise)
(d) Real time, or at least daily updates on allowances on the billing site - I love the analysis possible on the current site, but the lack of any data until the bill can be problematic (and actually makes us more cautious in usage and thus you get less revenue - quite the reverse of the likely reason you do this).
Other than that not much - customer services are excellent and overall you have it covered. Just don't make stupid unfriendly changes, that's the sort of nonsense Orange did, and they lost our business.
