O2 email settings (Pop3, SMTP etc.) - is there a way of using SSL?

Anonymous

The default settings for POP3/SMTP do not use SSL.

Are there any alternative settings which make use of SSL for O2 mail?

Thank you!

Thank you for the replies.

I just set up my mail box on Sky as my broadband is migrating.

Was surprised when the Welcome to Sky email popped up both in the new Sky inbox as well as the old O2 inbox though - seems the accounts are already linked!
(Sky seems to use SSL via a Yahoo server)

Take a look at this thread. http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Home-Broadband-Home-Phone/so-how-do-i-get-my-emails-now/td-p/630092

Not much point in setting anything new up, as O2 is in the process of shutting down its email servers. They will be gone completely by April. You would have been sent notification of this.

No, O2 doesn't support SSL.
As all the servers are shutting down in April anyway, you'd be better off moving over to gmail or something more secure anyway.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
