In june of 2010 me and my wife moved homes and immediatley informed O2 of this. Unfortunatley the area coverage was extremely poor in our new area and we were unable to use our mobile broadband. I spoke with the technical department on many occassions to try to resolve this but they eventually agreed that there was nothing they could do. I then spoke with a manager at O2 call centre who was realy helpfull and agreed that the only option was a full termination of the service and contract which was effective immediately. She also advised as we paid our last bill that there was no money outstanding.
We have been refused credit for months and we thought that it was just down to the recession. On checking our credit file with Equifax O2 have put that there was a missed payment in July, Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov then issued a DEFAULT in december. THEY DID THIS WITHOUT ANY ATTEMPT OF CONTACTING ME OR MY WIFE WHICH IS ILLEGAL. NO PHONE CALLS (even though we both have O2 mobiles), NO LETTERS, NO EMAILS = NOTHING!!!
We have a 6 month old daughter at home and we were trying to get a mortgage this month and O2 have now destoyed our credit in a time when it is near impossible to obtain credit even with a PERFECT credit score. O2 will now cost us further rental payments on a home until we can get this removed and have cost us nearly £2000 in car repairs because we couldnt get credit for a new car. O2 HAVE DESTROYED OUR LIVES AND PUT IMMENSE PRESSURE ON US AND OUR NEW FAMILY. We have suffered financial hardship due to their incompetance. This was even confirmed by their O2 call centre who appologised and were distraught that they did this.
Aparently the O2 department who deals with this (Credit file refferals Dept) do not take calls ( how convenient) and the only way we can contact them is by email, fax or letter. We emailed them on friday 4th March but no response as yet.
We have been crying and distraught and what O2 have done to us and urge customers to step very carefully in dealing with O2 as their conduct is disgusting.
Any help or advice that anyone can give us on getting this removed from our credit profile and what we can do about the conduct we have recieved from O2 would be much appreciated.
Kind Regards
Dave
