Hello All, My first post!, I live in the Margate area (Margate, Kent). I bought a 2nd hand O2 dongle, which works well, but 2/3 days ago (6th June 2011) the high speed connection I had been loving has reduced to a crawl, or more precisely, GPRS/EDGE which is totally useless!! Just a green LED flashing, no more light and dark blue LED! Anyone else in my area suffering the same problems? Regards Markkyboy
Hi Perksie, That was the first thing I did was to check the status. The status said that a mast was down somewhere near me but also it stated, that emailing, browsing and downloading were not affected!?!, wrong!, I could barely get connected, emails faiing to send and web pages not displaying! Where can I report this to O2 or do I need to call them? Regards Markkyboy p.s. Just reconnected my O2 dongle after doing a status check (which claims everything in my area is dandy) and I'm still getting GPRS/EDGE only!, still no HSPDA or 3G! Disappointed of Cliftonville!
Hi Markkyboy, I wonder how you are supposed to email and stuff if the mast is down? Click "Contact us" at the bottom of the O2 home page for all the numbers (I've always assumed you phone Mobile Pay Monthly or Pay and Go for MBB faults). Let us know how you get on. "Remembers holidays in and around Margate from many years ago (ex-Londoner) Aaahhh!"
Thanks Perksie, Margate is not what it used to be, local council have seen to that! I will be contacting O2, I have 1.4GB of unusable data allowance on that SIM, as if it isn't all a big p*ss take in the first place!! Thanks again, Will post my findings, meanwhile i will use my lovely high speed 3 dongle to chat with you and others here, on O2's forums! Regards Markkyboy
Hi all, I finally spoke with an O2 advisor, the usual flannel, remove your SIM card, clean it, blah,blah!!...She took my details and has passed the problem to their technical department...hmmmm, wonder if I will ever hear from their tech dept!, probably not and I don't expect too either! ho-hum, things are just like they were 10 years ago with 56k dial up internet, constant problems with none of the providers admitting any responsibility! Will keep you all informed, unless my Orange 3G takes a dive, then I'm stuffed! Regards Markkyboy
