What phone did you purchase?
All O2 phones are locked and some can be unlocked, whilst others can't just yet (maybe later).
Right now you will have to call CS http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus as the online system is down but the process is here

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Hi

Just to add ;

If you upgraded to the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus then usually O2 won't unlock it for around 6 months.

There were exceptions last year for people paying off the handset under the refresh terms although it was a matter of using the complaints system before O2 eventually unlocked the phone.
