Changing from Pay Monthly to SIM only

Anonymous
Not applicable

My monthly contract is ended and I want to keep my old phone, number and only use text and talk facility - No Data.

How can I do this?  Can I buy a SIM and just top up by voucher or phone ad hoc?

Can I do this at any time now I'm out of contract, without penalty or do I need to give notice?

I have been on the CHAT facility but no one person can seem to answer all those questions and tell me how to get what I want, for the cheapest cost.  I do not want to be committed to a Direct Debit.

Whenever you like, you can stay as you are and do nothing, still paying for your contract, or order a Pay and Go sim and move your number to that.

Hi thanks for response. My current monthly DD is £11 and the cheapest I can see is £10.50 with a discount takes it to £8.92, but I that commits me for another 12 months, which I don't want. I'm keeping my old phone, which good go kaput at any time so I want to be free to go anywhere/do anything at that point. I saw an 02 SIM for sale at Tesco till for 99p, so could I buy that and just buy a top up voucher as and when?

The free sim linked to above is the same as the ones tesco sell.
You just need to speak to cs and ask to be put onto the o2 basic payg tariff.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:

The Basic tariff is still available but you have to ask for it which I find farcical. However giffgaff rates are better and if you pm @MI5 he can provide a link with a free sim and bonus....
