Am in Spain and cannot send my daughter a text, why not

I am on holiday and cannot send my daughter a text.

Is there something special I need to do  ?? like prefix her number or something ??

Try 0044 and drop the first zero.
If you are PAYG you need credit too as your UK allowances won't work in Spain.

So 07720 000 000 would become +7720 000 000. 

Phones should do this automatically with SMS. Do you know if you can SMS other people as it could be you dont have international roaming turned on or credit if you are PAYG - rememeber international SMS dont come out your bundel unless you use TU Go over wifi?

Normally on O2, texting a UK mobile anywhere does not necessitate any change by adding the +44 prefix and removing the first zero. You text the number as you would in the UK.

If it's just this one number, get her to check she hasn't accidently added your number to any reject list. Check your own reject list too.

This has happened to me. You need to make sure the number is sent from your contact list ONLY. I go to Spain a lot and know that if I attempt to input the number manually it never works..
