02 Send A Free Text

Anonymous
Not applicable
Afternoon. I have had this problem for a while now, every time i go on to the 02 website to send a free text, it doesn't work. I go on to the site click "send a free text" and then it brings me to the log in page, i enter my details as i usually would, but it automatically signs me out and returns me to the home page, I've repeated this over and over but nothing seems to happen. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks

It's possible that the messages are going as mms. Are you including emoticons?

If you are including smilies or sending long texts then the message is being sent as MMS not SMS which is why you are being charged.

There have been several threads on here but see this post on how to avoid it

33p (+VAT) is the standard charge for an MMS which is not included in your free text allowance.

P&G tariffs normally include a text allowance.

Is there something we can help with?

If you are looking to send a free text online, you can't do it anymore.

O2 canned the online texting years ago. Download either Mightytext or mysms and you can, text from your PC but it's not free, texts come from your allowances.
