o2 Joggler UPDATE

Oh joy. Took my Joggler to a large city store together with my reciept and the email from the support team saying that they could repair it in store.

The storeperson was trying not to laugh as they were clearly not able to fix or replace it. She rang the support lines and was put on hold for ages where upon they eventually argreed to replace it.

They took my details and said they would ship a new one out within 5 days but someone has to be at home to swap it!

2 weeks so far!!!!!! :robotmad: :smileymad:

Finally working!

After a lot of discussion with o2 it appears the update issue can be resolved by Open Peak (the manufacturer) dilaing in to the device remotely and manually applying a fix and the updates.

Mine has been done at 9.30 this evening and it now working normally (although it is nearly two weeks since it arrived).

O2 really need to get a handle on the support of these! Still not impressed with the service but hopefully the Joggler will impress ...... watch this space.

Good luck everyone else!

p.s. I was told by the O2 team that there are non in the country due to the volcanic ash issue (stuck in China) and a massive increase in sales (1000 per month to 6000 per month) - sorry!

o2 Joggler UPDATE

:robotindifferent: So perhaps they would do us all a favour, save the planet rather than shipping bricks around the world, save them and us hassle and release the fixes for download to a USB stick?

Did you speak to OpenPeak direct in the end.

Carbon emmissions

Hi

No, not spoken to Open Peak, O2 CS passed my call to them to fix (in 5 days). I did look on the Open Peak website first as I though to issue a patch to load onto a USB device would be must quite a cheaper and save them a lot of effort - but no info.

You can 'hack' the Joggler by turning Telnet on and forcing them to update via telnet from a laptop from a downloaded file on a USB drive (as the updates are available) but I thought this may invalidate my warranty so I opted against it (though I was tempted!). I suspect this is what Open Peak are doing - my device just re-booted 3 or 4 times last night and hey-presto working ..... magic. No call from O2 or Open Peak to say it had been done mind! A customer service triumph again - good effort O2!

Thanks for that. Do you have any links to this. I might give it a go

Manual (Telnet) Update

[ Edited ]
Hi,

To enable telnet >> http://jogglerwiki.info/index.php?title ... ing_Telnet
To force an update via telnet >> http://jogglerwiki.info/index.php?title=Manual_Update

I would be very interested to know if this works and if it resolves your issue.

o2 Joggler UPDATE

After having the joggler sitting in its box for days waiting for O2 to collect I thought what the hell.

I ran the link for enableing telnet. This appeared to work OK. The Joggler rebooted and still wanted to do the update. In the meantime I was about to Telnet when I noticed that it had Started the update for the first time in 14 days. Left it downloading and then updating, about 10mins in all.

Not sure if it is coincidence but I'm up and running, no thanks to O2 but you.

o2 Joggler UPDATE

Received my Joggler at 12 noon, connected it wirelessly and it updated ok, but none of the apps appeared to work.

Connected by Ethernet and got the text message straight away, and everything else started working.

All done and finished by 12.50pm.

Put it back on wi-fi and it seems to be happy, cool piece of kit.

I would have liked the volume to be a little louder, so may try a speaker with it.
