Re: ice cream sandwich update

anticipation,
As I've stated it's more than a joke in fact it's a farce, which to me is beyond belief when you get something that's released but due to this and that you are not able to get it. 3UK have got it out but others seem to be sitting around doing nothing, ok I know we get told it's being tested but come on this has been out since last year how long does testing take, there are so many out there saying the same thing. Re: ice cream sandwich update

I hate the waiting too but at the same time I would rather have something that works as it should and with minimal bugs
I keep hearing negative reports on ICS releases so far, people having lots of issues
Soon as the UK version for unlocked phones is released I'm hoping xda forums will have it up and ready for download in quick time, I'm going to flash it via ODIN
I have had a taste of ICS a few weeks back and it's nothing to get too excited about plus my ICS had loads of annoying bugs which made go back to gingerbread.

Re: ice cream sandwich update

O2 have said they will roll it out for the S II before end of the month.
Vodafone and Orange/T-Mob have yet to confirm when it will be available for the S II, so could be worse.

I've been waiting since Feburary, since I feel it's been a bit longer than 2 days. :robotwink:

Re: ice cream sandwich update

They told me on Twitter it would be early April and to keep checking the feed. They have only had it a week or 2 got to give them a little time.

Re: ice cream sandwich update

Oh silly me thinking that as it's only been out for 2 days it should have already been rolled out. On that point in Oct 2011 O2 had the Samsung Nexus was available from O2 and was the first smartphone with ICS, so I'm sorry they have had it for more than 2 days. It's not only O2 but the rest are the same apart from 3UK and by all accounts BBC, ITV Sky et al are the same. Now it's my understanding that when any new OS is dev. it is sent out to be tested by people who will be using it, be it MS Apple Google et al, so really there is no excuse for a delay in releasing it by others. There again maybe I don't know what I'm taking about.

Re: ice cream sandwich update

Glad you mentioned the Galaxy Nexus - you do realise it is still running an earlier version of ICS than the one being issued to S2 owners?

Re: ice cream sandwich update

You do know that it was Samsung that held up the roll out of ICS to Galaxy users until w/c 19/3, not O2, or any of the other networks.
Similarly it is HTC that decides when to roll out ICS to their devices, then the networks pick it up after that.
And people who have recently bought a Galaxy SII will be really annoyed when the SIII is launched in May.
